On Friday night, something special happened at Thetford Town Cricket Club.
Project 100 officially launched but more than that, a community came together with a shared belief: we can build something better, together.
From the moment the doors opened, the room was full of energy. Club members, local businesses, partners, supporters, and friends all gathered with one common purpose to help shape the future of cricket and community facilities in Thetford.
What Is Project 100?
Project 100 is our bold, 12-week mission to raise £100,000 to deliver new, inclusive training facilities at the club. At its heart, this project is about more than nets and infrastructure it’s about opportunity.
Opportunity for:
Young people discovering cricket for the first time
Women’s and girls’ teams ready to take the next step
Players of all ages and abilities who deserve facilities that match their commitment
A community that values accessibility, wellbeing, and belonging
A Night Full of Purpose
The launch event was designed to do one thing well: bring people into the story.
Guests heard about the journey so far, the vision ahead, and why this project matters not just to the club, but to Thetford as a whole. The proposed designs for the new facilities were shared, along with how the funds raised will directly improve training, access, and long-term sustainability.
There was a real sense that this wasn’t just a fundraising campaign it was the start of something lasting.
Backed by Strong Partnerships
We are proud to be working alongside Total-Play Ltd, whose expertise and commitment to quality and sustainability will help turn this vision into reality. Their involvement gives confidence that what we are building will serve the community for many years to come.
Also alongside SeakAid who will enable us as a club to give our old kit a new a home and become sustainable in the future whilst allowing others to play the sport in all the gear.
The support shown on launch night from sponsors, businesses, and individuals alike reinforced just how much belief there is in this project.
Community at the Core
What stood out most on the night was the atmosphere. Conversations flowed. Ideas were shared. Connections were made. It was a reminder that cricket clubs are more than sporting venues they are community hubs.
Project 100 is built on three simple values:
Community. Commitment. Cricket for All.
Those values were visible in every conversation and every show of support.
This Is Just the Beginning
The launch marked day one of our 12-week journey. There is still a long way to go and that’s exactly why momentum matters now.
