SeakAid Partnership

SEAKAID is a UK-based charity dedicated to increasing access to sport by collecting and redistributing pre-loved sports kit to communities overseas where equipment is scarce. Their work supports young people, grassroots clubs, and schools by removing barriers to participation and using sport as a vehicle for health, confidence, and opportunity.

At Thetford Town Cricket Club, community impact has always extended beyond the boundary rope. As part of Project 100, our ambitious campaign to raise £100,000 for new, sustainable training facilities, we are proud to be working in partnership with SEAKAID to ensure our growth as a club also delivers wider social value.

A Shared Commitment to Inclusion and Opportunity

Project 100 is focused on building modern, inclusive facilities that will support the continued growth of youth, women’s, and men’s cricket in Thetford. As our club evolves, equipment is naturally renewed and upgraded. Through our partnership with SEAKAID, surplus and pre-loved cricket kit is donated rather than discarded, allowing it to be reused by communities around the world where access to sporting equipment is limited.

This partnership reflects a shared belief that sport should be accessible to everyone, regardless of geography or circumstance. While Project 100 invests in the future of cricket locally, SEAKAID ensures that equipment no longer required here continues to change lives elsewhere.

Sustainability in Action

Sustainability is a core principle of Project 100. By working with SEAKAID, we are extending the lifecycle of cricket equipment, reducing waste, and contributing to a more responsible, circular approach to grassroots sport. It is a simple but powerful way to align local development with environmental and social responsibility.

Strengthening Community Connections

Seakaid has also played an important role in helping spread the word about Project 100, sharing our story and values across their network. Securing Graham Gooch to support us both in the new venture. This support has helped raise awareness of what Thetford Town Cricket Club is trying to achieve and reinforces the credibility of the campaign as one rooted in genuine community benefit.

More Than a Facilities Project

Project 100 is not just about nets, equipment, or infrastructure. It is about values. By partnering with SEAKAID, we are demonstrating that as we build a stronger future for cricket in Thetford, we are equally committed to supporting the wider cricketing community beyond our town.

This partnership is a clear example of what Project 100 stands for: Community, Commitment, and Cricket for All.
